Mercedes G500

This is no ordinary SUV. Over the past 25 years, Mercedes' renowned G-Wagon has protected foreign dignitaries and coddled off-road explorers. And now, a modified version, the Mercedes-Benz G500, is coming to a Mercedes dealer near you. The four-wheel-drive G500 is built  correction, hand-built  for the rough stuff.
On the highway, the G500 is luxurious, though the steering feels a bit heavy and reluctant to self-center. The five-speed electronically adaptive automatic transmission is world-class. Not surprisingly, the 5.0-liter V8 accelerates the G500 somewhat leisurely. The vehicle does, after all, weigh in at 5,400 pounds, thanks to a beefy suspension, thicker-than-usual outside sheetmetal, and a massive hand-welded frame.

Do Now 5/16/2011 Organizing Information

I keep my computer organized by labeling all of my documents and putting everything into folders.

Tagging is commonly used in blogs, site authors attach keyword descriptions (called tags) to identify images or text within their site as a categories or topic. Web pages and blogs with identical tags can then be linked together allowing users to search for similar or related content.

Using phones as a credit card

The cellphone has been more than a cellphone for years, but soon it could take on an entirely new role, standing in for all of the credit and debit cards crammed into wallets. Instead of swiping a plastic card at the checkout counter, consumers can now just wave their phones. The technology is already being installed in millions of phones, and is used overseas, wide adoption of the so-called mobile wallets is being slowed by a major behind-the-scenes battle among corporate giants. Mobile phone carriers, banks, credit card issuers, payment networks and technology companies are all vying to control these wallets. But first, they need to sort out what role each will play and how each will get paid.

Speedway An alternative transport system

Zero-emission electric car gets runs on linear motors when more speed and range is required. The better the range and speed of an electric car, the more expensive it gets, and if you want an electric car that could take you across cities and towns just like your traditional gas-powered car does, you’re in need of some luck and huge amounts of money. Industrial designer Christian Forg is trying to find a feasible solution to all these problems associated with electric cars without increasing their cost by much. The ingenious designer has unveiled a new concept, the Speedway Electric Car, which alters its power source and shape according to the distance you are to travel.
